How to Make Money With YouTube AdSense?

Contrary to popular belief, there are more than just one way to earn money through YouTube AdSense.

First, you can earn money through the regular way, by displaying ads before, during and next to your videos on YouTube.

Second, you can embed your YouTube videos on your site and place Google AdSense ad units next to them. This way it will help draw more attention towards your ads, which will increase your click through rate and boost your AdSense income.

Now let’s take a closer look at both of these YouTube AdSense strategies.

Step 0 – Sign up for a YouTube Account and create a YouTube channel.

Step 1 – Join the YouTube Partner program. While it used to be a privilege of alreadysuccessful YouTube publishers with many video views and subscribers, today anyone who has a YT channel in good standing can become a YouTube partner.

Step 2 – Once your channel is set up, go to your Video Manager, Channel Settings, Monetization and click Enable next to the AdSense tab.

Step 4 – If you want to monetize all your videos with AdSense ads, go to the same page (Video Manager, Channel Settings, Monetization) and click the big blue “Enable” button.

Step 5 – If you want to monetize only certain videos from your channel, go to the Video Manager and click the $ sign next to the videos you’d like to make money from.

Step 6 – Choose what type of ads you’d like to use for monetization. There are 3+1 main type of YouTube AdSense ads:

• Overlay In-Video Ads

• True View in Stream Ads

• Paid Product Placement Ads 

• Display Ads (Show by default)

If you ask me, I recommend you choose the

1. Overlay In-Video Ads,
2. True View in Stream Ads
3. and the Display Ads.

I suggest you skip using the Paid Product Placement Ads since those can lead to conflicts regarding your AdSense monetization.

Step 7 – Choose “everywhere” for syndication and click Save Settings.

Congratulations, your YouTube AdSense settings have just been configured and you’re ready to make money 24/7.

Step 8 – If you wish to get rid of the ads on your channel or on certain videos, go to the above page (Video Manager, Channel Settings, Monetization) and click the greyDisable button at the bottom.

2. How to Earn Income through YouTube AdSense on Your Site?

When you create a new video, don’t just upload it to YouTube. If there’s a page on your site that has a related topic, embed the video on it and put an AdSense ad next to it (directly).

This way whenever people just skim your page instead of reading it (which happens quite often online) their eyes will immediately stop thanks to the video. And since the ad will show up next to it as well, you’ll have a higher Impression Count, higher conversion rate, more clicks and increased income as well.

This is a great “bonus” AdSense income strategy, since you won’t leak any traffic. Now because you embed your own videos, you can’t possible lose with this tactic: people will either click on your video or your ad next to it. You can only win.
